Biography

Ayobami Badiru Moreira is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of Environmental Meteorology at the University of Freiburg and collaborates with the Research Center for Human Biometeorology (ZMMF) of the German Weather Service (DWD) in Freiburg, supported by the International Climate Protection Fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. Her doctoral research, conducted at the Federal University of Pernambuco (Brazil) from 2017 to 2021, focused on socio-spatial vulnerability to urban climate in Recife, Brazil. During her doctoral studies, she completed a research stay at Université Rennes 2 (France) in 2019-2020, specializing in spatial modeling of urban climates. In 2022, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Federal University of Pernambuco, centered on analyzing the impact of climate change on urban climate and civil-geotechnical infrastructure in Brazil's Northeast Region, where she continues to provide support for ongoing research.

Research

Her research is based in spatial analysis, urban climate, and climate change. Currently, she is focused on assessing the impact of climate change in the Brazilian Northeast, with a particular emphasis on evaluating vulnerability to heat and developing climate change adaptation strategies.

Current Research Projects

Heat vulnerability index and climate change adaptation strategies for coastal cities of the Brazilian Northeast.
