Biography
Dimitris Tsirantonakis studied Physics at the University of Crete (BSc, 2017) and graduated from the ‘Geoinformation in Environmental Management’ master’s program of CIHEAM-MAICh in 2021. Since 2021 he has been working as a Research Assistant at the Remote Sensing Lab of FORTH and he is a Doctorate student at the Chair of Environmental Meteorology at the University of Freiburg as of 2024.
Research
In his master thesis Dimitris simulated the energy balance response to a neighborhood scale urban park development. In his Doctorate he is using remote sensing and modelling to study the characteristics, dynamics and climate feedbacks of urban vegetation. His general research interests include Earth Observation and climate applications.
