Biographie
Marcel Gangwisch hat von 2010 bis 2014 an der Albert-Ludwigs-Universität in Freiburg Informatik (Bachelor of Science) studiert. Währendessen folgte von 2013 bis 2015 ein kurzes Studium der Umweltnaturwissenschaften mit Nebenfach in Meteorologie und Klimatologie. Von 2015 bis 2018 absolvierte er das Studium der Umweltwissenschaften mit der Profillinie Umweltmodellierung und Geoinformationssysteme (Master of Science). Seitdem arbeitet er als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Zentrum für Medizin-Meteorologische Forschung Freiburg (ZMMF) des Deutschen Wetterdienstes (DWD). Dort forscht er an seiner Doktorarbeit unter Zusammenarbeit der Professur für Umweltmeteorologie der Universität Freiburg.
Forschungsschwerpunkt
Im Rahmen seiner Doktorarbeit im Bereich der urbanen Human-Biometeorologie, beschäftigt sich Gangwisch mit den thermischen Einflüssen städtischer, grüner Infrastruktur auf die urbane Atmosphäre und auf das thermische Empfinden der städtischen Bevölkerung. Hierbei wird ein urbanes mikroskaliges Stadtklimamodell um ein numerisches Strömungsmodell erweitert, um den Wärme- und Massentransport in der Stadt zu simulieren. Das Strömungsmodell wird hierbei an ein Energiebilanzmodell für die städtische Vegetation gekoppelt um den räumlichen Einfluss der baumphysiologischen Prozesse (Transpiration und Photosynthese) zu bestimmen.
